The Dunes is a classic golf club and the standard of Myrtle Beach golf. It's located a stones throw from the Atlantic off Bus 17 at Kings Road and is available to guests of certain resort properties and hotels.

The layout is challenging with water hazards, sand bunkers, narrow landing areas, doglegs, and modest, wildly undulating greens. It's a Robert Trent Jones, Sr original design and features his signature elements including fingered sand bunkers, crowned greens with collection areas, and "Waterloo" a risk/reward, par 5 wrapping around a large lake. There's a couple of peeks of the Atlantic from the 9th hole and 10th tees, but the balance of the layout is over level terrain along tree lined corridors. It plays to 7,370 yards, 76.1/148, course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees, redesigned by Rees Jones.
