Exeter CC is south of the Providence area off I-95 at exit 5 to the southeast 20 minutes west of Newport.

The layout is over rolling terrain along narrow, tree lined fairways on a large tract of cleared land surrounded by forests. There's ponds and the Queen River in play on several holes, numerous blind shots, and sand bunkers surrounding or guarding many of the generous greens. There's three sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,921 yards, 72.1/125, course/slope ratings, designed by Manny Fancis with additional work by Geoffrey Cornish.
