Sea Island Golf Club

Sea Island is a classic, southern resort from the early 1920s on Georgia's coast off Brunswick between Jacksonville and Savannah. The golf here is available to guests of the resort with a variety of cottages, the Lodge, the Cloisters, and the resort hotel for accommodations.

Seaside is the original course originally developed in the 1920s. It's a narrow, links-style layout hard on the Atlantic with wind always a factor as it flows through the marshes and sand dunes with quick, modest greens. From the back tees, it's 6,657 yards, par of 70, 72.6/139, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees. The back nine is mostly a design by Charles H. Alison and Harry S. Colt with their work on the front nine reworked by Tom Fazio.

The Plantation Course was built in the 1920s by Walter Travis with further redesign work by Colt and Allison, Dick Wilson, but is mostly a Rees Jones/Davis Love III affair today. It's a parkland style layout winding along oak tree lined fairways navigating streams and lakes and is well bunkered at the landing zones and around the greens. From the back tees it's 6,687 yards, 73.1/135, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.

The third course here is the Retreat, a private course which at times is open to guests on the property. It's a Joe Lee original parkland design redesigned by Davis Love, and is the most forgiving course to play here as it winds through the trees, marshes, and lakes. There's six sets of tees with the greens tees playing to 6,350 yards, 70.3/125, course/slope.
