Maryland National is on US 40 just north of Frederick, 50 minutes from either Baltimore or Washington.

The holes are varied throughout with a number of elevation changes along mounded and sloping fairways with a series of tight landing areas while others are more generous. There are a couple of blind shots off the tee and several where mounding hides the green from the fairway, but otherwise it's a fairly straightforward layout. The greens are somewhat small with slight undulations, sloping and rolling, confounding your your reads throughout. There's five sets of tees from 4,844 yards to 6,811 yards at the tips, the middle tees play to 6,069 yards, 70.0/131, course/slope ratings, designed by Arthur Hills in 2000.
