Forest Akers is MSU's two 18 hole golf courses located on the southeast side of Lansing just south of the University at I-496 and Harrison.

Both courses are a traditional layouts marching along tree lined fairways over rolling topography with several water hazards and sand bunkers positioned at the landing zones off the tee and defending the modest greens. The West is typically the tournament layout as it's 450+ yards longer and more demanding with a generous amount sand in play along the contoured fairways with multiple doglegs. From the tips the The West-7,013 yards, 75.0/137, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees; redesigned in 1992 by MSU graduate Arthur Hills. The East is 6,452 yards, 70.4/118, course/slope with four shorter tees, designed by Bruce Matthews with a Hills redesigned in 1997.
