College Fields is partially bordering a residential development east of Lansing off I-96 at the Okemos Road Exit (110) southeast of MSU.

The layout has a links feel as it moves along broad fairways lined with fescue and scattered trees at the borders. There's a generous amount and variety of sand bunkers at the landing zones and greenside with Heron Creek snaking through the western third of the layout impacting play. The course plays at 6,615 yards (72.6/134, course/slope ratings) from the tips with three alternate tees available, designed by David Savic in 2005.
