White Deer Run is in the north Chicago suburbs in the town of Vernon Hills within a residential community between Townline and Greggs Parkway just south of Libertyville.

The course is a parkland design with scattered trees defining the fairways with an abundance of water hazards and wetlands producing several forced carries in addition to sand bunkers positioned along the fairways and greens. There's five sets of tees overall with the tips playing to 7,155 yards, 74.5/148, course/slope ratings, designed by Tim and Dick Nugent.
