The Oaks is in the Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham off I-65 at exit 246 just 15 miles south of Birmingham.

The layout is parkland style with hilly, tree lined fairways, water hazards in play on 9 holes, and 6 holes dogleg left and 7 holes dogleg right where strategic, course management is required. The course was originally designed by Earl Stone and plays to 6,842 yards, 71.7/120, course/slope ratings from the tips with two shorter tees.
