The Challenge is just off I-40/85 at Graham midway between Durham and Greensboro.

The layout is a challenging, traditional design along tree lined, rolling fairways with a generous amount of sand traps and multiple ponds and streams in play. There's a mix of long and short par 4s, an interesting set of par 3s, and full three-shot par 5s. It's laid into a scenic, forested setting on the west side of the Haw River along mostly isolated fairway corridors. The golf course was designed by Barry Brantley with tees from 4,771 to 6,828 yards, the Blue tees are at 6,401 yards, 71.3/135, course/slope ratings.
