Sunriver Resort

Sunriver is a 3,000 acre planned residential community located 16 miles south of Bend with three 18 hole, championship golf courses available to guests of the resort. The Sunriver Resort’s origins began with the Army Corp of Engineers training camp in 1943, and all that remains of the original Camp Abbot complex is the Great Hall.

The Woodlands is a parkland design along narrow fairways bordered by Ponderosas and Lodgepoles with the occasional peeks at Mt. Bachelor. The course offers a fair amount of elevation change as it winds through the hills and over a ridge area overlooking the resort along with doglegs, lava rock outcroppings, water hazards, and strategic sand bunkers in the fairway landing zones as well as greenside. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in the early 1980s and from the back tees plays to 6,947 yards, 73.4/142, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.

The Meadows flows over level terrain along the Deschutes waterways and ponds with fairways bordered by tall fescue, Ponderosa, and Lodgepole pines and Mount Bachelor, Broken Top, and the Cascades in the background. It plays to 6,906 yards, par 72, 73.5/140, course/slope ratings from the tips with four shorter tees. It was originally designed by Fred Federspiel in 1968 and was redesigned by John Fought in 1999.

Crosswater journeys through 600 acres of wetlands, woodlands, and meadows of the Valley with views of the Cascades from every hole. The Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers will come into play on seven holes in addition to the ever present wetlands on this heathland style design which is an Audubon designated sanctuary. It's challenging and long at 7,683 yards, 76.9/150, course/slope ratings off the tips with three shorter tees, designed by Bob Cupp in 1995.
