Salem Glen is southwest of Winston Salem in Clemmons on the north side of the Yadkin River.

The golf course is within a residential community with either homes, trees, or lakes and streams along the fairways. The front side is more of a link-style layout over relatively flat land set in the Yadkin River basin. The back side has substantial elevation change as it moves along rolling and sloping, hardwood tree-lined fairways. There are five sets of tees overall; the middle tees are 6,063 yards, 70.2/132, course/slope ratings, and a Jack Nicklaus design.
