Lost Marsh is in north Hammond near the lake surrounded by an industrial area 30 miles from downtown Chicago via the Chicago Skyway and Indiana Toll Road and near the Horseshoe Casino and the Hammond Marina.

The course is a landfill reclamation project designed as a links style layout. The first few holes are a bracing start along Lake George then mellows in the middle but strengthens again at the finish. There's water hazards in play on half the holes producing several forced carries and sand bunkers mostly positioned around the greens. From the back tees it's 6,803 yards, 73.6/132, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Charles Howard.
