The Legacy is one of the more scenic golf courses to play in the Atlanta area, as it is routed along and above Lake Lanier.

The layout is a parkland design through pine and old-growth, hardwood tree-lined, and hilly fairways with twelve holes alongside the Lake. It's a shot-maker's layout where course management is critical, with narrow fairways, tight approaches, and a liberal number of sand traps. The Blue tees are at 6,193 yards, 71.0/137, course/slope ratings, with a variety of tee box options, designed by Billy Fuller.

There is also The Six, designed by Fuller, the former superintendent at Augusta National Golf Club. It is Georgia's only night-lit par-3 course. Holes measure from 56 to 91 yards and overlook Lake Sidney Lanier.
