Heather Downs is in south Toledo just north of the Ohio Turnpike off Eastgate Road.

The golf course is a classic parkland layout over slightly rolling terrain along a mix of broad and narrow fairways defined by trees. There's a pond and/or a stream in play on 1/3 of the holes and sand bunkers along the fairways and defending the greens. It can play to 6,250 yards from the back tees, 70.6/123, course/slope ratings with three shorter tee boxes. The course originated in the 1920s as a private club and was redesigned by Art Hills in the late 1990s.
