Deerfield is north of Newark off Paper Mill Road on its own roaming through a natural setting over rolling hills along tree lined fairways.

The parkland layout is challenging featuring a variety of holes along narrow fairway corridors with constant uneven lies, the occasional blind shot, and sand bunkers positioned along the fairways and greens. It was redesigned by Bill Gordon with four tees, the whites are at 6,005 yards, 70.1/133, course/slope ratings. The course was originally the Louviers Country Club built for the Dupont employees, but is now owned by Division of Parks and Recreation who invested considerably to elevate it to today's standards.
