Bellwood Oaks is 30 minutes south of St. Paul on the south side of Hastings surrounded by fields and forests.

The layout is a parkland style design over hilly, oak tree lined fairways where keeping the ball in play off the tee provides ample scoring opportunities. There's numerous slight doglegs, several water hazards, and a modest amount of sand bunkers in play. It was designed by Don Secrest in the early 1970s with four sets of tees from 5,199 to 6,800 yards, the white tees play to 6,187 yards, 72.5/127 course and slope ratings, par of 73.
