Western Turnpike is a 27-hole municipal golf course located on the west side of Albany, off the NY Thruway at Western Avenue to the west.

The golf course is a classic, parkland layout which moves over gently rolling terrain along fairways defined by old-growth hardwoods. It's generally straightforward but occasionally narrow off the tee, with water features in play on half the holes, fewer than 35 sand bunkers, and modest, oval greens. There are four sets of tees overall, with the White tees playing to 3,144 Yards, Red; 2,899 Yards, Blue; 2,880 yards, White.
