The Preserve is located north of I-10 between Gautier and Biloxi and is part of the Palace Casino group.

The golf course was built on a 245 acre tract of land surrounded by the Sandhill Crane Refuge and Conservancy with the Old Fort Bayou at the edge of the course. This is basically wilderness with a golf course routed through it and it isn't unusual to see deer, hawks and of course cranes and other migratory birds. The course is without development, just golf and nature with views over the preserve and marsh from the elevated tees. It was designed Jerry Pate and plays to 6,774 yards from the tips, 72.6/138, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
