The Mad Russian is between Longmont and Fort Collins, east of I-25 at exit 252 in Milliken, in a scenic setting with views of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains throughout the round.

The golf course is partially within a residential development with homes lining the eastern border of the layout. It's a quirky, target-oriented layout with multiple water hazards, elevated tees and greens, forests and ravines, streams, lakes, and ponds, and modest, undulating greens. There are three sets of tees with the tips playing to 5,641 yards, par of 70, 66.4/121, course/slope ratings, designed by Bob Ehrlich.
