The Golf Club at the Highlands is 25 miles southwest of downtown Richmond in Chesterfield, off VA 288 to the south, within a residential development.

The golf course traverses unique, separate fairway corridors defined by pine trees over rolling contours. It borders on a target layout, featuring doglegs, streams, and ponds in play on over half the holes, in addition to sand bunkers guarding the fairways and protecting the green complexes. It's a challenging layout at 6,565 yards, with a course/slope rating of 72.5/142 off the tips, and three shorter tees, designed by Barton Tuck.
