Tarratine is in Dark Harbor on Islesboro, a small island in Penobscot Bay with a population of about 650 full-time residents situated three miles off the Maine coastline and a 30-minute ferry ride from Lincolnville Beach.

The golf course is a straightforward 9-hole parkland layout with broad fairways leading to postage-stamp-sized greens, and the first hole offers a stunning vista over Penobscot Bay. The original 1913 design by Alex Findlay remains intact today, playing to 3,058 yards from the back tees, 34.2/123, course/slope ratings.
