Tam O' Shanter is on the east side of Sharon off I-80 at Hermitage Road to the north.

The golf course layout is a classic parkland design by the former superintendent of Oakmont, Emil Leoffler in 1929. The layout produces slight elevation change as it journeys along tree lined fairways over, across, and bordering four streams leading to small to mid-sized greens well defended by sand traps. It's a par of 71 at 6,537 yards, 69.4/121, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tee boxes.
