Stoney Creek is midway between Burlington and Greensboro just off I-40 at Rock Creek Dairy Road to the north.

The golf course is a demanding layout wandering through an upscale, residential community with fairways bordered by old growth, hardwood trees. There's a slight change in elevation, Rock Creek and numerous ponds crossing and bordering fairways, and a modest amount of sand bunkers along the landing zones and guarding the oval or kidney shaped, undulating greens. The course was designed by Tom Jackson with six sets of tees, the blues play to 6,197 yards, 69.3/130 course and slope ratings.
