Southern Dunes G&CC is located 20 minutes south of Walt Disney World just 2 miles off I-4 at Rt 27 within a residential development.

The golf course is a parkland layout over rolling terrain with 100 feet of elevation change affording views of the fairways' landing zones and the over 180 sand bunkers from the elevated tees. The course is well known as a man-sized layout with long par 4s, cavernous sand bunkering, numerous risk/reward opportunities, large, fast and undulating greens, but with little water or wetlands in play. It was designed by Steve Smyers in the early 1990s, and plays to 7,227 yards, 75.5/138, course/slope from the tips, the white tees are 6,298 yards, 70.9/129, course/slope with five sets of tees overall.
