Rockledge is 5 minutes west of downtown Hartford, off I-84 at exit 41 on the north side.

The layout is parkland style along well-spaced, parallel fairways separated by trees over land with a slight elevation change. There's a stream running through the middle of the golf course, crossing several holes, in addition to a modest number of sand bunkers as hazards. The course is 6,440 yards from the blue tees, 70.4/125, course/slope ratings, with three shorter tees, a redesign by William Mitchell in the 1940s of the original 1920s design by Mike Sherman, with some additional history as Tommy Armour was once the head professional here.
