River Valley Golf Course is in Adel along the Raccoon River 30 minutes northwest of Des Moines.

The golf course is a parkland layout with broad fairways defined by evergreens partially bordering a small residential development. It meanders over level terrain along slight doglegs with multiple water hazards including an island greens and a modest amount of sand traps at the landing zones and defending the greens. The course measure 6,620 yards from the back tees, par 72, 72.0/124, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by Lowell Erdman.
