Pontotoc CC is 10 minutes west of Tupelo on the Pontotoc Parkway, in a scenic setting with no homes or development, featuring a few holes along the lake at Trace State Park.

The layout is parkland-style, with stands of trees lining the fairways over rolling terrain. A stream and ponds traverse the middle of the course, impacting play on several holes, with the occasional sand bunker in the fairway defending many of the modest greens. There are three sets of tees, and the tips play to 6,420 yards, 70.9/130, course/slope ratings.
