Pleasant Valley is located on the far south side of Iowa City on Gilbert on the east side of the Iowa River.

It's a challenging, parkland layout with a generous amount of sand bunkers along the fairways and greens and lakes, ponds, or streams in play on 12 holes. The greens are a variety of shapes and sizes and contoured with slight undulations. It can play to 6,472 yards, 70.7/127, course/slope ratings from the blue tees with three shorter tee boxes, designed by William Spear in the 1980s.
