Panama Country Club is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway along the Gulf of Mexico on the north side of Panama City.

The layout's abundant trees were mercilessly pruned by Hurricane Michael in 2018, creating a much more open and accessible play area. The fairways are over level terrain carved through tree-lined borders along ponds and wetlands, with homes bordering the exterior holes. The greens are slightly raised, modest, and defended by deep sand bunkers. It can play to 6,626 yards, with 71.5/125 course/slope ratings from the tips, and eight holes designed by Captain Charles Hugh Alison remain.
