Old Waverly is located in West Point about 30 minutes south of Tupelo, and is open to guests of the on-site cottages or villas. References and comparisons have always been made between Augusta National and Old Waverly which becomes even more persuasive from the time you drive into One Magnolia Drive to the colonial style clubhouse.

The course journeys over a scenic, secluded setting along broad and rolling, tree lined topography. There's four lakes in play in addition to the five holes routed along Lake Waverly including the two finishing holes. The greens are large, undulating, and quick and well defended by deep white, sand bunkers. It was designed by Bob Cupp and plays to 7,000 yards, 74.0/140, course/slope ratings from the championship tees with three shorter tees. The course has hosted a major, the USGA's 1999 Women's Open, and probably could host more if it were located nearer a major market.
