Ocean Shores is just east of the Pacific within a residential development in Ocean Shores 30 minutes due west of Aberdeen.

There's two completely different types of golf courses here with the front nine winding along narrow, tree lined fairways through a residential neighborhood while the backside is generally a more open, links-like layout with tall native grasses bordering the fairways and the constant wind affecting play. It's only 6,252, par 71, 69.5/117, course/slope ratings from the back tees with two shorter tees, designed by Dan Hixon. The course opened in 1961 and grew in stages to a full 18 hole championship course and at one time was owned by Pat Boone, who hosted the Celebrity Golf Classic here and later a regular LPGA Tour stop.
