Northwest is a 27 hole, Montgomery County municipal golf course located about 45 minutes southwest of Baltimore off Route 200 at Layhill Road.

The Championship layout is a challenging and long, parkland design along broad, tree lined fairways with multiple water hazards and well bunkered, generous greens that allow for a variety of pin placements. The course was originally designed by Ault, Clark in the early 1960s with the thought of hosting a U.S. Open, and is 7,376 yards from the tips, 6,341 yards from the white tees, 69.0/115 course and slope ratings. There's also a par-34 “Inside Nine” that provides more challenge than your typical executive track, and plays to 2,711 yards from the back tees, 34.5/116, course/slope, designed by Russell Roberts. The clubhouse is updated with a good sized pro shop and a large 40+ station driving range with about half the tees covered, lighted, and heated.
