Newcastle Country Club is about an hour south of Spearfish between the Black Hills National Forest and Thunder Basin National Grassland on the west side of the downtown area of Newcastle.

The layout is a basic, 9 hole parkland design with scattered trees lining the fairways on the north side of Little Oil Creek. It's very playable overall with slight doglegs, a few sand bunkers, and small, oval greens. It's short at 3,167 yards from the back tees, 35.6/113, course/slope ratings.
