The MSU golf course is on the east side of Starkville off Old US 82 east on a natural tract of land without homes or development along the course.

The course moves over slightly rolling hills along tree lined fairways with sand bunkers in the landing zones and defending the greens. It features water hazards in play on half the holes including the three finishing holes on the front side bordering a large lake. It plays to 6,604 yards from the back tees, 72.0/126, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed by Brian Ault in 1986 with a redesign by Nathan Crace in 2011.
