The Los Alamos municipal golf course is owned and operated by the city and is said to be the second oldest golf course in New Mexico. It also may be the only golf course in America built by rocket scientists as it was designed by engineers working at the Atomic Energy Commission!

The golf course gallivants over the top of the Pajarito Plateau at an elevation of 7,300 feet with views of the Jemez mountains throughout. The layout is a basic parkland style design along Ponderosa Pine and Cottonwood, tree lined fairways with a moderate amount of sand bunkers guarding the push-up greens. From the tips it's 6,704 yards, 71.2/124 course and slope ratings with three shorter tees.
