Legends on the Lake is about 1 1/2 hours west of Round Rock in Kingsland on a bend in the Colorado River in Hill Country.

The layout's front nine is open and straightforward with sand bunkers and lakes being the primary hazards along with a scattering of trees. The back nine is more challenging along fairways defined by trees over rolling terrain with several holes on the Colorado River which flows into Lake LBJ just downstream. The golf course was designed by Tom Kite, Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell with four sets of tees from 5,218 yards to 7,260 yards, the Whites are 6,148 yards, 69.3/125.
