Kokopelli is located northwest of Marion on the west side of I-57 at exit 548.

The layout, built over a former coal strip mine, has a collection of interesting holes as it moves over rolling terrain along fairways bordered by stands of trees. It's dominated by clusters of sand traps of differing shapes and sizes positioned at the landing zones, defending the greens, and with several water features in play. From the back tees, it's 7,039 yards, 74.7/139, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Steve Smyers in 1997.
