The Kentucky Dam golf course is part of the Kentucky State Park system and located 21 miles southeast of Paducah off I-24 at Exit 27.

The golf course is a classic layout though a little rough around the edges at times. The broad and rolling fairways are tree lined along slight doglegs with minimal sand bunkers and one water hazard, and the greens average in size with moderate undulation. It's 6,704 yards, 73.0/135, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tees. Somehow the state convinced Perry Maxwell, who designed Southern Hills in Tulsa and Colonial in Ft Worth, to design this course for the park system in the early 1950s.
