Hyde Park is located on the southwest side of Jacksonville south of I-10 and east of I-295.

The golf course is a municipal layout, but if you're a Stanley Thompson devotee, this is one of your shrines. The layout is a compact, parkland design with generally broad fairways off the tees, slight doglegs, several water hazards, and sand bunkers defending the occasional fairway and all of the small, raised greens. The Jacksonville Open was held here in the 40s and 50s with Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson walking the fairways. The course plays to 6,468 yards, 70.6/124, course/slope ratings from the tips with with two shorter tees.
