Highland Oaks is part of the RTJ Trail and is located on the west side of Dothan. It has three nine-hole championship courses and a par-3 layout.

The Highlands course is the more open of the three nines, with water in play on four holes and an island, par 3 green. The Magnolia Nine is parkland-style, routed over hilly terrain along tree-lined fairways and narrow driving corridors. The Marshwood is also parkland style with one of the longest par-5s in the state at 700 yards from the back tees. The Short Course is a challenging par 3 layout at 1,809 yards with various long and short holes with a range of tight pin placements.
