Griffin Gate is on the north side of Lexington off I-75 at the Newtown Pike exit, then south.

The golf course is an Certified Audubon Sanctuary and an enjoyable parkland style layout with tree lined fairways, water in play on a number of holes, and sand bunkers on most of the holes surrounding the greens and along the fairways. It was designed by Rees Jones with yardage from the back tees at 6,784 yards, 73.1/138, course/slope ratings and three shorter tees.
