Great River is off the Wilbur Cross Parkway on the north side of the Housatonic River in Milford.

Great River is a demanding parkland layout with six holes bordering the River, while the remaining holes traverse mature, hardwood-lined fairways or open meadows. Overall, there are wetlands, ponds, and lakes in play on multiple holes in addition to an abundance of conventional, long waste, and pot sand bunkers defending the fairways and greens. It can play to 7,060 yards, 74.6/146, course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter tees, a Tom Fazio design.
