Goat Hill Park Golf Course

Goat Hill Park is a municipal executive golf course in Oceanside, off the I-5 at Oceanside Blvd. It is tucked into a small parcel of land on a bluff overlooking the Interstate, bounded by shopping centers, apartments, and homes.

Quirky, target golf on a hilly spot of land with unending forced carries to patches of fairway leading to postage-stamp-sized green complexes defines Goat Hill, with a setting that boasts occasional peeks of the Pacific and is swayed by its constant breezes. It can play to 4,497 yards, par of 66, 61.1/94, course/slope ratings off the Blue tees with two shorter tees. Historically, it was a 9-holer designed by William Johnson and later redesigned by Ludwig Keehn into the current executive routing. After years of struggle under mismanagement and the threat of redevelopment, the community and golf clothing magnate, John Ashworth, successfully preserved it as a "People's Park," with the restoration by Todd Eckenrode.
