The George Young Golf Course is on the west side of Chicagon Lake in the UP about 45 minutes northwest of Iron Mountain across the Wisconsin border in Iron River.

The course is carved through the northwoods and very picturesque with views of the Lake throughout. It's a hilly layout with well bunkered fairways and greens, numerous water features, and massive green complexes. George Young was a Chicago industrialist who built the course and resort modeled after a Colorado mountain resort in the early 1980s. From the tips it plays to 7,041 yards, 74.3/130, course/slope ratings, but is very playable from the Grey tees at 6,076 yards, 70.6/123.
