Flying L is an hour northwest of San Antonio in Bandera in the Texas Hill Country, and is open to outside play.

The course is routed around and through a residential and resort community over level terrain. There are +/- pot and fingered sand traps at the landing zones and defending the greens along with a couple of water features, including an island green. There are 19 holes, the 19th, a par-3 to settle matches with tees from 4,455 to 6,646 yards; the White tees are 6,273 yards, 70.0/121, course/slope ratings, designed by John Bredemus.
