Farmville Golf and Country Club is located just off Highway 258/264, a few miles west of Greenville.
The golf course is a short, compact, parkland-style layout from the 1930s, with fairways defined by old-growth hardwood trees. There are sand bunkers defending the greens, Little Contentnea Creek, and numerous ponds in play, and, overall, a shotmaker's layout with a premium on accuracy. The course plays to 6,206 yards from the tips, 69.5/114, course/slope ratings, with two shorter tees. There are indications of a "Donald Ross" type design, but there's no accurate record of his involvement.
