Elk River Golf Club is about 40 minutes northwest of downtown Minneapolis, in Elk River, adjoining Top of the World Park on the northwest side of town.

The golf course winds along oak-lined fairways, with some elevation changes, providing a mix of interesting, varied holes. The greens tend to be small and elevated, so the short game is at a premium here, as is keeping the tee ball in play with numerous doglegs and water on 11 holes overall. It plays 6,560 yards from the tips, 71.8/127 course, and slope rating with three shorter sets of tees, designed by Willie Kidd in the early 1960s.
