Elephant Rocks is located in Williams, just off I-40 west of Flagstaff, on the highway to the Grand Canyon at the foot of Bill Williams Mountain.
The course is owned and operated by the City of Williams, but it isn't a typical municipal layout. The golf course lumbers among tall Ponderosa pine trees bordering the fairways with unique and isolated corridors. There are sand bunkers defending the landing zones and greens, and multiple water features in play as hazards. It plays to 6,695 yards, 70.2/124, course/slope ratings from the tips with two shorter tees. The original golf course here was built in 1932 by railway workers; in fact, the original clubhouse remains today, and the course was redesigned by Gary Panks in the early 1990s.
