Devil's Thumb is in a spectacular setting just outside Delta, 70 miles south of Grand Junction in the Adobe Hills.

The layout traverses the rocky terrain of the desert and is bordered by natural waste areas and conventional sand bunkers, with unreal elevation changes that provide stunning vistas. It's a spectacular setting along the Grand Mesa and the Uncompahgre Plateau at the confluence of the Uncompahgre and the Gunnison Rivers in the Black Canyon. In the distance, the Raggeds and West Elk Mountains are to the east, and the San Juan Mountains to the south. There are five sets of tees with the tips playing to 7,176 yards, 72.9/132, course/slope ratings. The more manageable blue tees are 6,190 yards, 68.2/123, course/slope ratings, designed by Richard Phelps.
