Conquistador is a municipal course owned and operated by the City of Cortez near Mesa Verde National Park in the Four Corners region.

There's an abundance of views here as it marches along an undulating stretch of land with the fairways bordered by Ponderosa Pine and pinon trees and surrounded by La Plata Peak, Mesa Verde, and Sleeping Ute Mountain range. There's water in the form of lakes and creeks in play on eight holes and sand bunkers guarding the majority of the modest greens and the occasional fairway. From the back tees the course is 7,152 yards, 72.6/131, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, designed by J. Press Maxwell.
